The following table provides a detailed look at the gas usage before, during and after construction of a 240 square foot addition. Construction on the new addition commenced in the late summer of 2003 and was finished in January of 2004. One will note that because of careful planning and usage of energy efficient materials and design techniques there is no impact on the gas usage even with the addition of about 15% added space.
